Rebuilding was necessary in the 14th century, after an earthquake. Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries. The remains of the monastery were rebuilt into a castle, which was the home of the St Aubyn family from the 17th century. Reportedly, St Michael's Mount is the starting point for a ley line which includes Glastonbury Tor.

Because it was before Easter we were allowed to take the dogs onto the beach. Dr Gonzo is the white lurcher, Rowan is the brown mongrel.
